~Sending you with my heart~

Distance between two hearts is not an obstacle, rather a beautiful reminder of just how strong true love can be. ~Author Unknown

Saturday I said goodbye to my better half. That morning we had our few private moments before walking out the door and heading to the Battalion. Standing in our Kitchen that morning, I took my husbands dog tags off his neck and removed the sterling silver band that had been there. See this band used to be on my wedding finger, but the day he asked me to marry him he removed the band and replaced it with my original engagement ring. Until the day we were married he wore that band on his ring finger. The day we got married he put the ring on his dog tags. That ring was with him every day of the last deployment. For our Anniversary, my husband bought me my DREAM Wedding Set, which I love. I will always love my original ring, which until our anniversary I have never taken of my hand. It was with me every day of the last deployment. But back to Saturday Morning. I removed his band and replaced it with my original wedding ring, which had been sitting in a box in our safe. I put the dog tags back on his neck and very laughing told him "you better bring my diamonds back Melsoni, are kids will be getting those someday." With tears in his eyes he grabbed me and kissed me. That little silver band was then placed on a necklace I was wearing
that David bought me while we were dating. I will do my best to wear it everyday, once my sunburn on my neck is gone. Later that day when he left we didn't cry, we said our goodbyes and began our Countdown. That man has my heart with him. I will think of him everyday until the day he returns home to me. I trust in God to protect him and keep him safe.
